Who is Collateral Verifications?

Modified on Fri, 15 May at 11:48 AM

Collateral Verifications (CV) is a US-based, independent provider of aviation advisory, valuation, technical, and asset management services, founded in 2004. ch-aviation partners with CV to deliver aircraft valuation data — including Base Values, Current Market Values, Future Values, and Lease Rentals — directly within the platform.

CV's client base spans commercial airlines, lessors, banks, investors, and nearly every major transport aircraft and turbine engine manufacturer.

Why are CV's valuations trustworthy?

  • ISTAT-certified appraisers — CV's commercial valuation work is led by an ISTAT Certified Senior Appraiser. ISTAT (the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading) maintains the most widely recognised appraiser certification in commercial aviation, and its standards are the benchmark used by lenders, lessors, and courts worldwide.
  • Independent and unbiased — CV is a third-party advisory firm that does not own, broker, or finance the aircraft it appraises. Its valuations are not influenced by any position in the asset.
  • Audited by major accounting firms — CV's valuation reports have been reviewed and accepted by leading independent auditors, including BDO, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, KPMG, and PwC, in the course of their clients' financial audits.
  • Accepted as expert evidence in court — CV's appraisal work has been admitted as expert witness testimony in jurisdictions including the Delaware Court of Chancery, Colorado trial and bankruptcy courts, the High Court of Justice in England and Wales, and the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Ciudad de México.
  • Deep market data — CV's values are grounded in actual transaction histories and market comparables across hundreds of aircraft, rotorcraft, and engine types, supported by ongoing tracking of economic, regulatory, and industry trends.

A note on methodology

The values shown on ch-aviation are desktop valuations. CV does not physically inspect each aircraft or review its individual maintenance records. Values assume the aircraft is in half-time condition relative to its maintenance programme, has no damage history, is in overall good condition, and is being sold as a single unit.

For a tail-specific appraisal that adjusts for actual maintenance status and aircraft condition, subscribers can request a desktop appraisal directly through ch-aviation, fulfilled by CV. To arrange this, contact your account manager or reach out to sales@ch-aviation.com.
