How can I access the Data Feed Samples?

Modified on Wed, 17 Jun at 3:22 PM

Our Data Feed Samples are accessed in exactly the same way you will later access your live data feed files, so you can become entirely familiar with the data delivery process before going live.

All Data Feed Samples are fully coherent and compatible with one another. If you would like to build a proof of concept and join multiple tables together, you can do so — you will always find the relevant data in the other Data Feed Sample files, as well as referenced in the join instructions provided.

How are the samples delivered?

ch-aviation uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 buckets for the delivery of all data files. You can find more information on Amazon S3 in the official AWS S3 documentation.

Which access options are available?

You can choose between two delivery options:

  • Option 1 – AWS S3 Online Access (Console Access): The easiest way to access your data, and our recommendation if you are new to data feeds. We create a dedicated AWS user account for you, allowing you to log in, browse your bucket, and download your files directly.
  • Option 2 – Programmatic Access: Ideal if you are experienced with data feeds or APIs and have the capability to integrate the data into your own systems. You receive an Access Key and Secret Key for automated retrieval, allowing you to access the S3 bucket directly using the AWS CLI, SDKs, or other automation tools.

How do I access the samples via AWS Console Access (Option 1)?

To access the Data Feed Sample files through AWS Console Access, please do the following:

  1. Go to the sample data bucket in the AWS S3 Console.
  2. Sign in using the credentials below.
  3. Browse the bucket to download the Data Feed Sample files.
  • Account ID: ch-aviation
  • IAM Username: DemoData
  • Password: qJ9R*Fz1A1JK

How do I access the samples via Programmatic Access (Option 2)?

To access the Data Feed Sample files programmatically, please use the following credentials:

  • Access Key ID: AKIAREJC5HDGQMIUFOVR
  • Secret Access Key: fTpkGuj/c6CEqZPsSbAonNSOoRNWxGVz2yMm0P2F

Configure your preferred tool (AWS CLI, an SDK, or another automation tool) with these credentials, then connect to the S3 bucket to retrieve the sample files and integrate them into your systems.
