What does "operated by" mean in the Remarks column of the Departures/Arrivals display?

Modified on Mon, 1 Jun at 5:22 PM

When you see "operated by" in the Remarks column of the Departures/Arrivals display, it indicates that the flight is being physically operated by a different operator on a wet-lease or similar basis, rather than by the airline whose flight code or brand is shown.

In practice, this means the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance are being provided by the operator named in the remarks, while the marketing carrier retains the flight number and passenger-facing brand.
