If you have added the "Retirement Date" and "Retirement Date Type" columns in Aircraft Search and are only seeing projected retirement information, this is expected. These two columns show projected retirement dates only.
For aircraft that have already left service, the actual retirement date is stored in a different field: "Stored As Of".
How to display actual retirement dates
- Open Aircraft Search and set your usual search criteria, such as aircraft type, operator or region.
- Filter by Sub-status and select Retired.
- Click Edit View and add the "Stored As Of" column to your results.
- Run the search. For retired aircraft, the "Stored As Of" date is the actual retirement date.
Helpful tips
- If you check retirements regularly, click "Save view as…" to keep this column setup, and "Save search as…" to keep the Retired filter for future use.
- If you are analysing retirement trends, keep the "Retirement Date" column for active aircraft, where it shows projected dates. Use "Stored As Of" for aircraft that have already retired.
