We understand that government, head-of-state and VIP operations form a distinct market with its own information needs. Here is an overview of what ch-aviation currently covers for this segment, and where coverage is still limited.
Aircraft transactions
Yes, we cover aircraft transactions involving VIP and government aircraft. This coverage is part of our Business Aviation News subscription, which keeps you informed about acquisitions, sales and other relevant developments in this market.
VIP completions, cabin refits and special-mission conversions
MRO events for this segment are currently limited, and this is intentional. Our MRO events are established by analysing patterns in aircraft flight activity. This approach works very well for commercial aviation, where aircraft follow regular schedules.
Government and VIP aircraft behave differently:
- They fly far less frequently than commercial aircraft.
- Their operations are irregular, and in most cases there is no established schedule.
- This makes it difficult to identify maintenance, completion or conversion activity reliably, including long-duration visits to completion centres.
As a result, coverage currently looks like this:
- Business jet variants, including Boeing BBJ and Airbus ACJ: MRO events are not currently available.
- Standard (non-business-jet) aircraft variants used for VIP and government missions: Some MRO events are captured, though in smaller numbers than for commercial aircraft.
Future developments
Our methodology is continuously being refined. We plan to include this segment as part of business aviation MRO events in the future, which should broaden coverage of VIP and government aircraft over time.
